WHAT TO DO

Time for your input on this sites future. I would like your feedback on an important issue. Blogger intends to tighten it's censorship a bit on the area of sexually slanted materials ( mostly the use of  nudity in the images posted) What is going to happen is if they determine your blog is in violation that will convert the site to a private( by invitation) blog> I do not have very many issues but it leaves me with the thought of just going ahead and making it a private blog. I would like to know if you would be willing to work with it as a private site. I believe that it would allow 100 people to join and the postings would be a little better in regards to materials presented..

i hope you understand my spanish, my english is too bad. Mira, hay blogs como éste helaberarda.blogspot, que te preguntan si estas de acuerdo en entrar en él, precisamente por el contenido. No se cuales sean las condiciones de Blogger

1) What mean with 'willing to work' ?
2) What are your wishes/goals for the site if you making it private?
3) And which changings do you expect if the blog go private ?
Don't get me wrong but i think it is important to know . And sorry for my english i'm no champ with the english language .

Okay greetings and cheers

Hi,
The decision to be private is more a problem for you than for all of your blog readers: With a private blogs, you will have quite no more readers that your have yet, because any potential new reader will never access to your blog. So finally at the end you will keep only a small readers number. Sexual contents in a musical blog can be well supported when it is limited and appropriate. I will prefer more text, explanations and information that a nude photo .... In anycase I wish to continue to be one of your daily reader for several months. Take care and Thanks again.

I visit your blog every day, but I don't always download the music, so I'd like you to stay public. However if you have 100 strong supporters I can see where it would help you and those readers to go private. My questions is how is Blogger going to decide what is in violation or not?

Not a bad idea

Hi Bill,

I prefer an open site, but the choice is really yours. You put so much work into this site, that I'd hate to see it viewable to only a limited audience. Just my opinion, and I will support whatever you choose to do.

I pass by occasionally, having a bookmark for it, I may like what I see and read it; sometimes I download some of the content. But making it private I think would not take into consideration such "browsers" like me, with a passion but just as a hobby. So it would become boring, unless you have a lot to share, to do it for a hundred persons around the world. But the censorship that is ever tightening IS disgusting, so I understand your position.

Your site really hits a sweet spot for me: classic San Francisco sounds, occasional forays into supreme 70's St. Louis bands (as well as the immortal KSHE-FM radio station) and your fantastic song compilations. I've often wished that we lived in an adult world, but I care much more about the music that any visual image that others might find "offensive". More than anything, I'd hate for you to go private and me not get an invite! This is a wonderful site. Thanks.

Go private - I think it's the best way forward for you. You must have enough of a following - probably more than you think, because we don't all leave comments!

(If you do go private - let me in!)

I've only just discovered this site - it's terrific ! Thanks for all the hard work that obviously goes into it. I'm not sure how other people would just discover it like I've done though, if it goes private. And why would it be limited to 100 members ? That seems very limiting. I'd prefer it to stay public and if need be, don't publish any image that may be deemed "controversial". I'd be happy to get an invite though if it does go private !

I have been a daily visitor for years even if not a regular commenter. I would like to support whatever you do and sign up if that's the way you go..

It's only your decision . But sorry here is my fourth question ; why you opened this blog in the past ?
And sorry if it's not polite by me but it seems for some people is not important your request for a feedback but an invite .

Hi,
I prefer a site which is open for everyone. If you change it in a private site, I would like to follow. I visit this blog since several years and everytime I´m surprised about the nuggets you find in the open space of West Coast psychedelia. . Best regards, thekrit@web.de

You are not alone in this time of change. I understand your quandary. I have enjoyed your blog a great deal and would like to continue to do so. That said this is YOUR creation and you must decide what's best. Thanks for all the smiles and mix "tapes". Take care and "rock on".

First I'll say that I am against excluding anyone from anything. On the other hand if you feel threatened and going private will ease your mind I'd say go for it. None of us enjoys pressure in our lives. There have been other sites I no longer visit after they've gone private only because I'm not a joiner. But I have been coming here for so long that I would miss it if it were gone so I hope I will get an invitation. So I hope you don't go private but if you do I hope to be there. It comes down to what you feel is necessary. I'm against censorship too.

Inevitably if there are no other realistic options to keep the blog going then obviously take it private but as others have pointed out it will limit your audience and I assume that is something you would prefer to avoid? Are there no other options (e.g. use another blog provider)?

Anyway I enjoy your blog immensely so if you do go rivate will you sign me up please (CallyK1971@gmail.co.uk)

Hmm. My earlier comment didn't go through, so I'll try again. The consensus seems to be that most people would prefer a public site but would support your move to private if necessary. I go along with that (and add the usual request to please invite me: duanev@hotmail.com]

Drop in on your site a couple of times a month, very rarely down load but enjoy reading you blog. Up to you, but personally would prefer open

I dont ever recall that much nudity or adult oriented content on your blog...and I enjoy the easier aces of public, but I have no issue with the requirement for Private if thats what you decide. By all means, I would appreciate an invitation!
Thanx for the opportunity to give my 2 bits worth!
