While the Airplane was doing it's Grunt exercise the departed Marty Balin was busy producing this band for it's sole LP, Grootna was a favorite of Bill Graham even playing at the celebrated Fillmore Closing show. Even though these folks were not really a part of the Grunt Records family They had that feel about them Thos was one of my 2008 posts from the first site . I thought it fit in here pretty. I discovered the track "I'm Funky" while converting some of my father-in-laws old LPs to digital. It was part of a compilation album that also had some other great tracks ("True Love" by Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show, "Sleepless Nights" by Wayne Cochran and the CC Riders, and another one that i forget the name to by Ten Years After). I thought "I'm Funky" was the best track on the Grootna album, good enough that i searched online and found someone that was selling one and i bought it on CD for better quality and to check out the other tracks. Cheers for a great site that i check almost daily!
